Sam rose through the ranks of the Gillette company to the position of vice-president of corporate trade relations. Because of his love of people and the way he transferred that quality to the relationships he built with the Gillette accounts, Sam was considered a company He retired in 1981, but Gillette kept him on as a consultant. Among his numerous awards, Sam cherished the Tim Barry Man of the Year Award given to him in 1971, by the National Wholesale Drug Association and the Robert B. Begley Award he received in 1981 from the National Association of Chain Drugstores. The Begley award is given to a person "who exemplifies the qualities of gentleness, humility and service to colleagues." The Begley Award speaks to the essence of Sam Papps.

Sam was a 32nd degree Mason, an active mem ber of the Greek Orthodox Church and a charter member of the Alpha Omega Council, an organization of Americans of Greek ancestry who "promote and encourage loyalty and patriotism to the United Sates of America." Sam was born and raised in Tarpon Springs, the oldest of five children. Educated at Tarpon Springs High School, he served in WWII in France and Germany with the Army Corps of Engineers. He helped liberate the con centration camps when the war ended. Sixty eight years ago, he married Dorothy Crowther, of St. Petersburg.

Sam is survived by his widow Dorothy; his daughter, Patricia Papps, of Thousand Oaks; his son, Theodore Sam Papps, of Exton, PA; 5 grandchit dren, Tracy Flug, Dorothy Seguin (husband Marc Seguin), Jessica, Lauren and Samantha Papps; great-grandson, William Sam Seguin; 2 sisters, Elsie Sakiotis Kirkpatrick, Magdaline Sakiotis Thomas, and a brother, Demetrios (Jimmie) Sakiotis. Lois coura geously battled multiple health issues for several months prior to her passing and did so with unrelenting grace and dignity. She came to Florida in 1931, from her native Rapid City, SD. She was in the school system for 44 years, 22 years in Texas, and 22 years in Pinellas County.

She was an outstanding leader for her students and for the faculty as well in several schools. She was with Tyrone Middle School, St. Petersburg, for 15 years. She received her bachelor's degree from FSU, master's degree from Texas and her doctorate from the University of Texas. She was past president of Belleair Forest Gardens condominium 1986-87 and past president of Harbor Greens condominiums Association, and past board member.

She was past president of the Boca Ciega Kiwanis Club, for 2000-2001, and was Kiwanian of the year for '94-'95, '98-'99. She is preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Goodwin and brother, Bill Palmer. A Celebration of her life will be held 3 pm Thursday, March 20, 2008, at the funeral home chapel. Born Dec. 23, 1919, St.

Thomas, Virgin Islands. A resident of Pinellas Park, for the last years. She has lived in Florida since 1959, after moving from Connecticut to Miami, FL. Arline was a clerk at the Norwich, CT Welfare before being sworn in as the 2nd policewoman in the city's history in 1958. She was a trained handwriting ana lyst, and surprised many patrons at county fairs with information about their traits and personalities.

After moving to Miami, she was employed by Sears Roebuck, Eastern Airlines, and Panasonic companies in data entry departments. She continued in data entry and clerical work into her 60s. She also worked for Honeywell and the Home Shopping Network in Pinellas County. Arline was a lady with a wonderful sense of humor, a survivor of many adversities in her life. A lover of fabric, quilting, sewing, needlework, crafts, reading and puzzles.

So many interests lost this past year because of Alzheimer's. She was a lover of babies and puppies equally, spunky and strong, yet fragile. She could, at times, be downright silly with an infectious laugh. She loved all her children deeply. Cared for them, worried about them, en couraged them.

A woman of strong faith and belief in God to the end. She was loved, and will be missed by all who knew her. Predeceased by sisters, Faith MacKay, of MA, Yola Deveaux, of FL, and son, Paul F. Britt, of PA. Survived by sons, Chester L.

He grew up in Madison, NJ and worked as a teacher for 28 years in the Ramsey NJ public school system. Ed taught physical education health as well as being a successful high school soccer coach. There are 6 greatgrandchildren; 1 great-greatgrandson; and several nieces nephews. Reed was born March 6, 1916, in Wheeling, WVA. He was a US Army veteran of WWII. After the war, he relocated his family from Wheeling to Marietta, OH, where he worked at the Union Carbide plant.

The Hallocks remained in Marietta for over 20 years. He loved outdoors, especially hiking the Appalachian Trail. In 1970, the Hallocks moved to Sedona, AZ and Reed helped establish the Verde Valley Archaeologi cal Society as well as serving on the Governor's Advisory soup for Archaeology. In 1986, they relocated to New Bern, NC and became involved in the Neuse River Society and boating. After his wife Betty died, Reed settled in Sarasota where he married Elizabeth Lockwood.

Two years ago, they moved into Freedom Square in Seminole. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at the Lewis W.
