Dow has an exciting opportunity for an Enterprise Architect (Technology Architect) located in Midland, MI or Houston, TX! The role will align to Dow's Design Your Day approach and allows employees flexibility by choosing when to work remotely and when to attend on-site activities based on project work and role needs.

About You And This RoleAs an Enterprise Architect, you will enable business transformations as specified in Dow’s Corporate and Business Strategies. You will also lead the development of the Application, Information, and Technology architecture plans and blueprints that develop the capabilities required for business transformations. You will be responsible for creating advanced digital experiences for our employees and customers, which requires us to create connected solutions that give people easy access to the events and insights needed for their jobs. This role will set the cohesive and practical strategy for how to leverage advanced Solution Development, Integration, and other capabilities to deliver these solutions.

In this role, you will require specialized, in-depth knowledge and advanced expertise in your discipline or functional area. You will need to analyze and identify internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services. You should be able to communicate difficult concepts to others and persuade others to adopt a different point of view.

It is your responsibility to be able to use sophisticated analytical thought and judgement to identify innovative solutions. You will need to be able to lead others to solve complex problems and potentially lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. As an Enterprise Architect, your performance impacts business direction through the development of new products or services.

Responsibilities

• Develops architectures in the context of the overall Enterprise Architecture ensuring the results are aligned with Dow’s IT Strategy
• Ensures alignment/integration with other architectures within the Enterprise
• Defines a portfolio of solutions with an expanded domain coverage of multiple work process or line of business/functional coverage that provide key capabilities required to enable multiple business processes
• Develops and maintains roadmaps of solutions considering Dow business requirements, industry trends and IT advancements especially those of Dow’s strategic suppliers
• Influences these same suppliers to develop solutions that address current and future Dow business opportunities
• Provides guidance to development teams building out solutions to ensure alignment to architecture specifications
• Provides education and architectural principles and the architecture methodology

Strategic Consulting & Technical Architecture

• Engages & collaborates with a diverse set of Enterprise stakeholders
• Understands the applicability of industry trends, Dow's digital ambitions, and existing constraints, and leverages this information to help drive successful architecture
• Creates architecture strategy that enables Dow digital teams to create digital solutions that align to Dow's ecosystem and strategy

Project Engagement

• Participates in projects where strategy may not be clearly defined
• Builds conceptual architecture diagrams to support the communication of strategies for projects where needed
• Shows how solution architectures fit into the overall domain/Dow architecture
• Ensures project led solution delivery meets Dow's architecture standards and position

Collaborate with Solution/Service Managers

• Establishes, maintains, and publishes the key documents that describe the domain and its direction to IT leaders, IT service teams, and non-IT leaders
• Provides clarity for tool choices that enable our technical capabilities
• Manages and communicates the strategic position and lifecycle direction for the applications in the domain portfolio, as well as the relationships between our applications and their logical application category and business capabilities
• Manages or contributes to vendor engagement related to the domain, focused on strategy, roadmaps, and new capabilities

Enterprise Architecture Processes & Practice

• Consults and guides new technology evaluations through Dow’s Emerging Capabilities Process
• Participates and delivers architecture assessments leveraging Enterprise Architecture technical direction
• Manages the capability roadmaps and technology reference architectures for relevant domains

Qualifications

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, 12 years relevant experience, or relevant military experience at a U.S. E6 rank or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or higher
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant IT experience
• A minimum requirement for this US-based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process

Preferred Skills

• An advanced degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related discipline
• Working knowledge of the TOGAF framework, concepts, best practices and procedures in enterprise IT environments
• Hands on knowledge or ability with technology implementation across one or more domains: End User Workstation, End User Productivity Tools, End User Interfaces, M365, Search, Collaborative meetings, Generative AI
• Ability to work in a diverse team environment
